“Social value is an important activity within the NRL Group, forming a significant part of our culture and DNA. It’s about giving back and ensuring that when we do well, so do others – from community outreach work to engage the next generation, to tackling important issues such as mental health and wellbeing. Our 2025 social value report is a proud reflection of our continued progress, and the fantastic initiatives our colleagues are involved with that are making a huge difference.”

Supporting our communities

Supporting our communities remains a core part of life at NRL. From delivering STEM outreach and helping young people prepare for employment, to providing mentoring opportunities, our teams continue to make a real difference where it’s needed most.

Colleagues also use their paid charity days to volunteer and fundraise for local causes – from the Poppy Appeal to lending our support to important regional events. Through hands on support, donations and sponsorships, we’re committed to ensuring our success benefits the communities we serve.

Setting up a female mentor programme in Cumbria

On a personal mission to ensure other women benefit from the coaching and support she’d been able to access earlier in her career, Director Rebecca Graves who leads NRL’s Recruitment branch in Egremont was proud to establish a new female mentor programme in 2025. Launching She Leads, the initiative pairsed mentors from leading businesses in the region with applicants eager who wanted to learn from them and gain support for their own personal development. The results have been impressive, as strong partnerships have been formed, including Rebecca working with her own mentee over the 12 month12-month programme.
