NRL Group’s NDT business shortlisted for an EIC award

The NRL Group’s Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) business is celebrating reaching the finals of this year’s EIC Awards. The nomination and subsequent shortlist follow their listing in the Energy Industries Council’s (EIC) annual survive and thrive report – which highlights member organisations who have adapted and strengthened their energy supply chain businesses.

Each year members are asked how they have evolved and grown their businesses, looking for industry leading examples of strategic growth, innovation, and diversification. Reviewed and individually interviewed by the EIC’s CEO Stuart Broadley, each profiled member is then invited to take part in the EIC’s annual awards – which looks for examples across the energy sector of collaboration, energy transition, transformation, and optimisation.

Reaching the finals of the diversification award category, NRL’s NDT business was identified when they expanded their operations to set up a new Ultrasonic Qualification and Inspection expertise to support nuclear new build projects – including a new office in Bristol to support new regional projects. By investing significantly in specialist equipment and welcoming on board technical experts to establish operations, the business grew service expertise and geographical coverage – as well as helping position them to support emerging energy markets such as small modular reactor (SMR) technology.

Winners of this year’s EIC Awards will be revealed during a virtual awards ceremony on Thursday 2^nd December.
